Warm and Modern design for a suburban home

This house was the couples first home together. They wanted a complete remodel to remove the builder-grade materials. It had to reflect their appreciation for traditional and modern aesthetics, be Eco-minded with durable materials for a busy family of four. I custom designed the fireplace, so we had to tear out the fake boulders and almost start over. We kept the wood burning insert and refinished it. I used LVP flooring to keep their maintenance low. In the kitchen I used both painted maple and cherry cabinets and modified the original layout to function properly. The lighting was enhanced with the addition of recessed, wall, under cabinet lighting and ceiling fixtures.

This lodge-style religious retreat center, built by the Archdiocese, included 24 hotel style rooms and separate sleeping cabins. It was built to host events for all age groups. Since it accommodates many youth group events, commercial products and steadfast natural materials were used to create an durable interior that reflects the rustic countryside that envelopes it.
